Techniques used by Richard Barrett
The original images presented here were captured digitally using Canon PowerShot SD 400 Digital Elph 4.0 Megapixel and SD500 Digital Elph 7.1 Megapixel cameras. The digital "negatives" were imaged on a Lightjet printer, using lasers to expose traditional light sensitive photographic paper. They are printed on Fuji Cyrstal Archive paper to resist the fading that naturally occurs with works on paper. Some digital "negatives" are imaged as fine art canvas prints. Pigment based inks are used to saturate artist grade canvas for lasting color and clarity. The canvas prints are stretched over quality wooden stretcher frames complete with fittings and are ready to hang.
